Obama Asks for Informants, Propaganda to Push Health Care, Meanwhile Russia IS PATROLLING OUR EAST COAST!

1) Obama Asks for Informants "There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov (emphasis mine)." I'm not making this up!  I wonder if my e-mails and blogsite will be turned into the Government…  See: http://welcomeobama.com/2009/facts-are-stubborn-things/ “Of course, as we’ve seen in the health care debate to date, the term ‘disinformation’ is used by the Obama White House as a catchall to describe any opposition to the President’s push for single-payer, government-run health care — meaning the White House wants to be informed of any forwarded emails or blog posts or any ‘casual conversations’ that could be taken as opposition to their health care overhaul plan.” See: http://www.redstate.com/jeff_emanuel/2009/08/04/call-for-informants-if-you-oppose-obamacare-the-white-house-wants-to-know-about-it/ 1a) Audience Shouts Down Sebelius, Specter at Health Care Town Hall in Philadelphia Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Sen. Arlen Specter got a preview Sunday of the tough sell lawmakers will face over health care as audience members booed and jeered them during a town hall meeting in Philadelphia. Among those at odds with the officials touting the $1 trillion, 10-year plan was a woman who earned loud applause when she said she doesn't want Washington interfering with her health care choices. "I look at this health care plan and I see nothing that is about health or about care. What I see is a bureaucratic nightmare, senator. Medicaid is broke, Medicare is broke, Social Security is broke and you want us to believe that a government that can't even run a cash for clunkers program is going to run one-seventh of our U.S. economy? No sir, no," she said.  See: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2009/08/03/audience-shouts-sebelius-specter-health-care-town-hall-philadelphia/ 1b) Durbin Warns of Health Care Town Hall "Sucker Punch" Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) warned other members of Congress against antagonistic audience members at healthcare town hall events who may be funded by industry interest groups. "I hope my colleagues won't fall for a sucker punch like this," Durbin told the liberal blog ThinkProgress. "These health insurance companies and people like them are trying to load these town meetings for visual impact on television," he added. See: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2009/08/04/durbin_warns_of_health_care_town_hall_sucker_punch.html 1c) Letter I wrote to Dick Durbin today via his website: Dear Senator Dick Durbin,   I am extremely offended by the comments I heard you make today concerning Town Hall Meetings. Be assured that these protests are NOT being driven by Health Insurance Companies. Your constituents DO NOT WANT the government involved in their health care. Keep it up. You are galvanizing people with a passion that will not be extinguished until you and every one of your freedom-hating compatriots are expunged from office.    Sincerely, Jeanette Ward 1d) Morning Bell: Five Questions for Health Care Townhalls Can you promise me that I will not lose my current plan and doctor? Can you promise that you and your family will enroll in the public plan? Members of Congress and their families currently receive health care through the popular, and completely public-option-free, Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP) which allows members of Congress to choose between 283 private health insurance plans. Sen. Tom Coburn (R-OK) proposed an amendment that would require all members of Congress and their staffs to enroll in the newly-created public health insurance plan. His amendment passed by just one vote in the Senate Health Committee. In the House, Rep. Dean Heller (R-NV) offered a similar amendment and all 21 Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee voted it down. If the public plan is so great, then Members of Congress should be willing to forfeit their private coverage and join the millions of Americans who would be moved into the public plan. Can you promise that Obamacare will not lead to higher deficits in the long term? Can you promise that government bureaucrats will not ration health care for patients on the public plan? Can you promise me that my tax dollars will not fund abortions?  See: http://blog.heritage.org/2009/08/04/morning-bell-five-questions-for-health-care-townhalls/ 1e) WH uses Web to fight misleading health care effort (Misleading??!?!!? This isn’t journalism! This is propaganda!) WASHINGTON – The White House is turning to the Internet to hit back at a Web posting that claims to show President Barack Obama explaining how his health care reform plans eventually would eliminate private insurance. The 3-minute White House video features Linda Douglass, a former network television correspondent and now White House Office of Health Reform communications director, sitting in front of a computer screen showing the Drudge Report Web site. That site carries a series of video clips from another blogger who strings together selected Obama statements on health care to make it appear he wants to eliminate the private health insurance business. In the video Douglass says the site is "taking sentences and phrases out of context, and they're cobbling them together to leave a very false impression." THEY AREN’T TAKEN OUT OF CONTEXT!!! SEE FOR YOURSELF! THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION IS THE ONE WHO IS MISLEADING PEOPLE!!! READ THE BILL FOR YOURSELF! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE.  See: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090804/ap_on_go_pr_wh/us_obama_health_care 2) Rahm Emmanuel Continues Strong-Arming Opponents WASHINGTON. D.C. – Following reports that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has been orchestrating an effort to intimidate members of Congress and Governors who raise legitimate concerns regarding the effectiveness of the stimulus, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) sent a letter to Emanuel saying “While this type of scare tactic may work In Chicago, it will not work to intimidate me or other Members of the United States Congress.”   “I and others have dared to bring these facts to the attention of President Obama, the Congress and the American people,” Issa wrote. “You’ve unfortunately reacted by once again resorting to the playbook of the Chicago political machine.” See: http://republicans.oversight.house.gov/News/PRArticle.aspx?NewsID=625 RUSH: You remember back during the campaign Bill Clinton said that Obama had the instincts of a Chicago thug. Well, today Darrell Issa has issued a statement. It reads in part -- this a House oversight committee -- "Following reports that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel has been orchestrating an effort to intimidate members of Congress and Governors who raise legitimate concerns regarding the effectiveness of the stimulus, House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Ranking Member Darrell Issa (R-CA) sent a letter to Emanuel saying 'While this type of scare tactic may work In Chicago, it will not work to intimidate me or other Members of the United States Congress. I and others have dared to bring these facts to the attention of President Obama, the Congress and the American people,' Issa wrote. 'You’ve unfortunately reacted by once again resorting to the playbook of the Chicago political machine.'" He says this isn't Chicago, and it isn't going to play here. Rahm's kneecapping people, he's strong-arming people, he's twisting arms and so forth, forcing things down people's throats that nobody wants. It's the Chicago way.  See: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_080409/content/01125104.guest.html 3) AP sources: Russian subs patrolling off East Coast WASHINGTON – Two nuclear-powered Russian attack submarines have been patrolling in international waters off the East Coast for several days, in activity reminiscent of the Cold War, defense officials said Tuesday. U.S. Northern Command would not comment on the Russian submarines' movement. But in a prepared statement, Northern Command spokesman Michael Kucharek acknowledged the patrols and said the U.S. has been monitoring the two submarines. …Russia, meanwhile, conducted naval exercises with Venezuela last year in the Caribbean and sent one of its warships through the Panama Canal for the first time since World War II. The exercises with Venezuela were the first deployment of Russian ships to the Western Hemisphere since the Cold War. See: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090805/ap_on_go_ca_st_pe/us_russian_subs
