The Shadow Government, Lies to Destroy a Nation, Tax Revenue Plummeting, Gitmo Detainees to go to MI, KS

“Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and Joe Biden tell lies to be liked and make people think they are smart. Obama tells his lies to destroy a nation.”   - comment by “Muggins” in response to Uncovered Video: Obama Explains How His Health Care Plan Will ‘Eliminate’ Private Insurance, see http://www.breitbart.tv/uncovered-video-obama-explains-how-his-health-care-plan-will-eliminate-private-insurance/ 1) Czars Czars and more Czars! (The Shadow Government) MALKIN: Yeah. Well, there are upwards of 44 of them now, at least that's the count of the watchdogs in the blogosphere that have been installed into office through presidential appointment and it is, as you've said on your show and I've said many times over the course of the last six months a complete shadow government. And it's not just the amount of them. It's also the superfluousness. We all know that there have been czars in past administrations, Homeland Security czar, drug czar, et cetera, but there are so many extra layers here of overlords who have usurped authority from confirmed cabinet appointments, and this includes a very shady character, Adolfo Carrion, who was the Bronx Borough President and delivered Latino votes to Obama in that neighborhood. This guy is now the urban czar who has many more powers over the already confirmed Housing and Urban Development secretary Shaun Donovan. One, it was a payoff and two, it's a way for Adolfo Carrion to carry out the same kind of "Pay for play" deals that he specialized in when he was the Bronx Borough President. Now he can use millions, tens of millions, hundreds of millions of dollars in federal grants to pay off developers who are seeking favors from the Obama administration. The numbers could hardly be more stark: Tax receipts are on pace to drop 18 percent this year, the biggest single-year decline since the Great Depression, while the federal deficit balloons to a record $1.8 trillion. See: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_plummeting_taxes 2a) Rush’s comments on above: "Corporate income taxes are down 57 percent. Social Security tax receipts could drop for only the second time since 1940, and Medicare taxes are on pace to drop for only the third time ever." We have gone beyond the malaise of Jimmy Carter. All of these job losses have led to fewer taxpayers. These numbers make total sense. Now, the question... See, to me this is basic. If you're worried about government revenue, if you really want to generate some genuine revenue rather than print it, the mechanism for doing this is taxes. There are blueprints to show how you do this. Let me give you the numbers again. In 1981, Ronald Reagan when was inaugurated, the top marginal income tax rate was 70%. And the annual take, the federal budget, was around $500 billion. In 1989 when Ronald Reagan left office, the top marginal rate was 28%, the tax take had doubled, almost doubled. It was $950 billion, after reducing tax rates from 70% to 28%.   Reducing the tax rates incentivized people in any number of ways. There was job creation. But we had a recession in '82, and it was a bad one. And we stuck with this program. Cut people's taxes. We got out of their way. The economy boomed and rebuilt and went all the way through the 1990s on a gigantic roll. It is inspiring! See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UOLs7Cybnqw 4) Health Care Bill Says Sebelius Must Develop ‘Measurements of Gender;’ Sebelius Says She Has ‘No Idea’ What That Means (CNSNews.com) – Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius says she has “no idea” about a section of the Senate health-care reform bill that requires her to “develop standards for the measurement of gender”—as opposed to simply relying on “male” and “female”—for use in a new federal database that will collect information about all beneficiaries of government-run or government-supported health care programs. See: http://www.cnsnews.com/public/content/article.aspx?RsrcID=51873 4a) Washington Statists to the Public: Just Who Do You Think You Are? CALLER: That's great. Listen I'm calling about your saying that we should ask questions at the town hall meeting the first is, "What diseases are covered?" and I just want you to know that my cousin who is a surgeon and I have read through the bill and she calls me back and she says, "Gwen, this is Medicaid. This is Medicaid. This runs just as Medicaid," because she takes Medicaid patients. She says it's exactly the same language. So the problem with Medicaid is that they do take preexisting conditions. So they'll take your preexisting condition all right, but what she says is that they'll deny you some very needed treatments -- which, you know, considering that this is taxpayer funded, is okay because you can't expect taxpayers to fund every single treatment available to you. It's just too expensive. However -- RUSH: Whoa, whoa! Hold that thought right there. Who says we can't expect taxpayers to pay for everything? Do you realize how many Americans do expect that? The people that support Obama's plan precisely support it because of that. They think everything's going to be paid for by somebody else. CALLER: Yes, but that hasn't been able... Nobody has been able to achieve that. Not in Europe, not in any single-payer system anywhere around the world because what happens is you bankrupt the entire country. So at some point the disincentive to produce that comes from the additional taxation necessary to fund this is so great that they are no longer able to pay for these programs (emphasis mine). So that's not going to happen. At some point they're going to have to cap it off. And they are capping it off at some point here in Medicaid already. But the problem, Rush, is that if you have... You know, your life is worth something to you, and if you have a problem, and you can come up with the money -- ostensibly if you're on Medicaid, you don't have very much money. But say you get another job, or your family members scrape it together, or you get it for your church. You cannot, by the rules of Medicaid, pay out of pocket to that same doctor for the procedure. So if everybody's basically going to be on Medicaid -- and that is the intention of the Obama administration -- then that means that you will not have the option to pay out of pocket for procedures. That's highly un-American. It impinges on your freedom. Several senior U.S. officials said the administration is eyeing a soon-to-be-shuttered state maximum security prison in Michigan and the 134-year-old military penitentiary at Fort Leavenworth, Kan., as possible locations for a heavily guarded site to hold the 229 suspected al-Qaida, Taliban and foreign fighters now jailed at the Guantanamo Bay detention camp in Cuba. …White House spokesman Ben LaBolt said Friday that no decisions have been made about the proposal. But the White House considers the courtroom-prison complex as the best among a series of bad options, an administration official said. To the House Republican leader, it's an "ill-conceived plan" that would bring terrorists into the U.S. despite opposition by Congress and the American people. "The administration is going to face a severe public backlash unless it shelves this plan and goes back to the drawing board," said Antonia Ferrier, spokeswoman for Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio. The birth-certificate controversy is about Obama’s honesty, not where he was born. …Such was the ardor of Obama’s denials that jaws dropped when, once safely elected, he reversed course (again) and embraced his Islamic heritage. “The president himself experienced Islam on three continents,” an administration spokesman announced. “You know, growing up in Indonesia, having a Muslim father . . .” The “Muslim father” theme was an interesting touch: During the campaign, when the question of Barack Hussein Obama Sr.’s Islamic faith reared its head, the candidate curtly denied it with an air of what’s-that-got-to-do-with-me? finality: “My father was basically agnostic, as far as I can tell, and I didn’t know him.” And, it turns out, the spokesman’s fleeting bit about “growing up in Indonesia” wasn’t the half of it: Obama had actually been raised as a Muslim in Indonesia — or, at least that’s what his parents told his schools (more on that in due course). …The editorial desire to put to rest the “Obama was born in Kenya” canard is justifiable. The overwhelming evidence is that Obama was born an American citizen on Aug. 4, 1961, which almost certainly makes him constitutionally eligible to hold his office. I say “almost certainly” because Obama, as we shall see, presents complex dual-citizenship issues. For now, let’s just stick with what’s indisputable: He was also born a Kenyan citizen. In theory, that could raise a question about whether he qualifies as a “natural born” American — an uncharted constitutional concept. …Yet we now know that this life story is chock full of fiction. Typical and disturbing, to take just one example, is the entirely fabricated account in Dreams from My Father of Obama’s first job after college: “Eventually a consulting house to multinational corporations agreed to hire me as a research assistant. Like a spy behind enemy lines, I arrived every day at my mid-Manhattan office and sat at my computer terminal, checking the Reuters machine that blinked bright emerald messages from across the globe. As far as I could tell I was the only black man in the company, a source of shame for me but a source of considerable pride for the company’s secretarial pool. They treated me like a son, those black ladies; they told me how they expected me to run the company one day. . . . The company promoted me to the position of financial writer. I had my own office, my own secretary, money in the bank. Sometimes, coming out of an interview with Japanese financiers or German bond traders, I would catch my reflection in the elevator doors — see myself in a suit and tie, a briefcase in my hand — and for a split second I would imagine myself as a captain of industry, barking out orders, closing the deal, before I remembered who it was that I had told myself I wanted to be and felt pangs of guilt for my lack of resolve. . . .” As the website Sweetness & Light details, this is bunk. Obama did not work at “a consulting house to multinational corporations”; it was, a then-colleague of his has related, “a small company that published newsletters on international business.” He wasn’t the only black man in the company, and he didn’t have an office, have a secretary, wear a suit and tie on the job, or conduct “interviews” with “Japanese financiers or German bond traders” — he was a junior copyeditor. What’s unnerving about this is that it is so gratuitous. It would have made no difference to anyone curious about Obama’s life that he, like most of us, took a ho-hum entry-level job to establish himself. But Obama lies about the small things, the inconsequential things, just as he does about the important ones — depending on what he is trying to accomplish at any given time (emphasis mine). Instead of contacting NBC, Emanuel went to Jeffrey Immelt, the chief executive of General Electric. He also spoke with Les Moonves, the chief executive of CBS Corp., the company spun off from Viacom.  Whether this amounted to undue pressure or plain old Chicago arm-twisting, Emanuel got results: the fourth hour of lucrative network time for his boss in six months. But network executives have been privately complaining to White House officials that they cannot afford to keep airing these sessions in the economic downturn.
